Antique wooden fishing lures

Price of antique wooden lures. Begin your research to find out what is the reasonable price for certain lures.

Renegade Fishing Lures: Do Fish Care About Lure Cost?

There was believe that with a walmart cheap lure you can not catch fish. I may the one will say no, that is not right. Even from cheapest lure we still can catch fish and one thing that we may need to think is fish doesn’t care how much that the lure cost.

Other may say, the cheaper lure doesn’t catch a good game fish, but again I say no that is not true. The term of good lure is relative, if you like the lure and it catches fish (of course when it use properly), then ya it’s a great lure.

But most anglers will buy the best lure they can find, and renegade lure is not on their list.

If you have use the lure with right presentation, right speed, the right depth, than it will catch fish. And again the bass don’t care if your lure cost 1 bucks, of 100 bucks.

I agree the higher priced lures usually have higher quality components, better action on the water, look better or resemble its original form compared to a similar type, cheaper lure.

Using a higher priced lure make people more confidence to fish and due to high confidence they do indeed catch more and bigger fish. Since they are truly confidence and believe with that lure and usually will result in higher concentration which turn that lure to trigger strikes, but not because of they are using better lure.

However I may say renegade lure is not for beginner anglers, you need to modify or change the rings, since they are to small and very weak, use better quality split rings nr.2 or nr.3 rings for replacing them but this is just my personal opinion.

One of the advantage of using this lure is once you understand of using this lure than it will always catch fish, at least happen with me. And my largest fish I caught using renegade lures was a 21,5 lb northern pike and hope I can catch larger. But you need to understand how this lure work properly.

This lure is cheap and if you should lose one you won’t loose much money. You can use this lure for freshwater or saltwater if you like but is more of freshwater lure to me.

Lighted fishing lure also known or called as electronic lure or LED. These lures are more expensive than regular lures since some have replacable batteries and some don’t, but they would be worth it when actually attract the fish into biting.

One article in magazine written mention that this lure are worked so well that they were banned in one state which is Wyoming. Over 200 fish in like 3 hours were caught by 3 anglers, it so fantastic. Actually it is possible this lure catches too many fish and they also selling fast as fast as the fish are bitting.

This lure works in saltwater as well as freshwater and contain rattle attractant inside.
Lighted fishing lure is so successful that this lure is banned in one state.

What is Favorite Northern Pike Fishing Lures and Technique to Apply?

Very important to observe and understand about the habit and life cycle of northern pike. Best way when you spook to new spot is you need to know what lures are people used. I may say is always good to discover things on your own by experimentation.

Northern pike like top water, so keep your lures big, bright, flashy, colors loud and gaughty. My favorite lures are topwater plugs like pop-Rs, Spinnerbaits, Zara spooks, Buzzbaits, Spoons, Crankbaits, and Mepps. They are so aggressive and pretty much eat anything.

Pike is an aggressive fighter and has sharp teeth. Use a strong fishing line whatever brand you like, it will hard for them to bite you off. Support yourself with good quality gear, even though will cost you a little bit more. You don’t want some cheap rig breaking or failing on you. Mine is shimano, abu Garcia, and quantom reels and for rods I have used Barkeley, St.croix, g-loomis, or falcon. Bit more money to spend but you have no worry about failing equipment.

For lures presentation, it pays to use and erratic action at times as well, twitch, pause, then twitch again, slow steady, fast steady and sometimes pike will hit your lure as fast as you retrieve it. So vary your retrieve for sure and if big pike are around go with bigger and flashy lures.

To pick up on the things that work you need to use trial and error. It very important to pay attention from small details learned from experience. Don’t be afraid to changes techniques or spots if unsuccessful for an hour or two, Northern pike can hunt in a hundred feet of water or a foot of water.

Here are others favorite northern pike lures I got:

Yum Buzz frog (watermelon red flake and Carolina pumpkin/yellow) so far work good.

Gamagatsu size 4 offset hooks. Make sure the point of hook is not underneath but on top of the frog. Best times to use are when low light condition or when sun up or down.

Rapala super shad rap, black/white, gold/white and at night or dusk believe it or not blue/white.

long A bomber

red/white daredevil

Erie dearie

Big plastic swimbaits

Yo-Zuri

Soft bait, like a mouse, and a large jig.

A Shadrap crayfish color.

An X rap in white

And a shadling in perch.

Well actually those lures are not just list in my tackle box, but also list of friends in northern pike fishing forums. And to be honest, I always pick my lures base on believe and confidence, it work on me and always bring good result.

them, Hendry Dills is given much of credit for true beginning. Some of the founders of Creek Chub Company were working on their experimenting, ideas, and making handmade lures circa 1906, several years before company’s “officially” founding, and selling them to local anglers and friends. Their desire, friendship, and fishing to succeed is the motion one of the largest volume producers of wooden glass eyed, now antique lures of the 20th century.

Each played an intricate role in the firm’s success, George the master businessman, Henry thought to be originator of the idea of the wiggler, and Carl, owning the local sporting goods store and hardware as well as being a financier. They made their first deliveries to local shops in 1911.

Creek chub Bait Company dramatically changed the fishing lure and tackle industry by devised several innovations. One of those inventions was the first patent artificial appendage, or lip to attach to the lure, making it wiggle. Patent # 1,352,054, or as most would know it by seeing it on the lip of bait, 9-7-20 and 9-27-20. Their unique method of painting with the use of the netting from ladies hats is another significant contribution to the lure industry. This method of painting is creates the now widely used scale patterns. You can find their first use of this paint technique on lures dating back to 1917.

The Famous Pikie Minnow was introduced around 1919.

This company was also one of the first in the industry to incorporate the use of glass eyes thus adding a dramatically realistic appearance on their lures. Some of the earliest on record were those for a weedless fishing bait that featured a spring-loaded hooking device. It has been reported that scores of patents were granted to the company between 1920 and the early 1930’s.

All of the innovations made have resulted in more effective lures, as attested to by the number of anglers around the world that have made world record catches using a wide range of this company lures.

The most notable is one that remains unbroken today, a giant 22 pound, 4 ounce largemouth bass on Creek Chub lure from lake Montgomery, Georgia, set by George Perry in 1932. Creek Chub fishing lures have been credited over the years with establishing record catches of pike, muskie, stripper, and snook. Creek Chub maintains a long history of creating some of the finest fishing lures that catch trophy fish.
